Sole-Mizo Zrt. asked denkstatt Hungary to support them in preparing the dairy company’s first sustainability strategy and report.
A detailed, all-encompassing external and internal environmental analysis was prepared as the basis of the nearly 1-year joint work. In addition to a thorough analysis of competitors, the legal environment, customer needs and industry sustainability trends, we assessed Sole-Mizo’s maturity level in the field of sustainability based on company documentation and interviews. Considering the results of this research, we defined the main strategic pillars after joint thinking. Sustainability working groups were formed within the organization, which remained even after the strategy creation process, so they could carry out the implementation and define further objectives in the future. In close cooperation with these working groups, we determined the goals, indicators, and KPIs necessary for monitoring each strategic area. We summarized the strategy and the company’s operations in 2020 in a sustainability report that also meets the requirements of the GRI Standards. In addition, we prepared a summary of the report in Hungarian and English, as well as a poster summarizing the commitments. The strategy and the report also served as the basis for the company’s sustainable operation and communication. Based on this, Sole-Mizo Zrt. implemented the programs and regular reviews and adapted its goals and commitments.
Sole-Mizo Zrt.’s 2020 Sustainability Report was a great success among its customers, as expectations related to sustainability disclosure have become increasingly important in the FMCG sector. Sole-Mizo Zrt. has taken a market-leading step in the field of sustainability among Hungarian dairy companies with its thorough strategy that covers all areas of sustainability and considered the value chain. Sole-Mizo Zrt. also won the Green Frog Award 2021 special award in the ‘Best first report’ category.
